University programme
B2Space is engaging with universities worldwide to launch an international project (Blue Jay Programme) that will provide students with unique opportunities to learn, develop their skills, fly and test their experiments in the edge of Space.
You will fly the student's project in a stratospheric flight, performing a mission simulation, in an event with other international teams. At the end of the project, the university will keep the CubeSat and all the data and will be provided with exciting images of the CubeSat at the edge of space.
The objective of the program is that, through an academic year, the students will work towards:
- Designing a CubeSat to perform a mission of their choice (Earth Observation, Environment Control, Communications).
- Building the satellite and perform ground tests of the equipment.
- Flying their CubeSat to the edge of Space, in a Stratospheric flight at around 20-25 km of altitude performed by B2Space, in a special event with international teams from different countries
Benefits for universities
This program is a low-cost and high impact activity, that will improve the university positioning and help attract more students, funding, sponsors and collaborations.
- Attract more students by showcasing exciting university projects and impressing parents with strong technical projects supported by the industry."
- Exclusive international project.
- Very impressive images can be captured during stratospheric flights (logos can be photographed at the edge of space), providing perfect material for promoting the university across all media.
Fly you CubeSat” program provides students with a unique and exciting experience
- Develop technical and management skills: Through a multi-functional team approach, students will gain valuable and practical knowledge for their careers, making them stand out and increasing their employability.
- Engagement in an exciting "hands-on" project: Designing, building, and testing their own project from end to end is an enriching and fulfilling experience that will keep them motivated and engaged throughout the academic year.
- Fly their experiment to the Edge of Space. Students will participate in a flight mission that will make them feel like they are part of NASA or ESA, sharing an experience with teams from 10 different countries. This could be one of their greatest educational experiences.
Benefits for students
Strategic opportunity to boost research and innovation in the region, contributing to sustainable economic growth and establishing the region as a prominent player in the space domain.
The initiative would contribute to the development of local capabilities in space engineering. By investing in space education and research programs, a knowledge base and skilled workforce in the region would be strengthened, creating a highly qualified workforce prepared to address challenges in the space industry.
University-Industry Collaboration: Funding CubeSat programs encourages collaboration between universities and the space industry. This synergy can create opportunities to transfer technologies developed in academic environments to the business sector, promoting the creation of startups and economic diversification.
